The FooLuminati invite fellow fools from all and sundry to a foolibration
and fool magic rite on the night of April 1. We will be foolibrating April
Fool's Day by finding, embracing and playing with our inner fools. In our
infinite wisdom, we shall raise the power of the Dunce and see what SHe has
to say to us and carry this magical fool energy with us into the new year.

The fool can be found when we lower our defences and walk out of our
fortified strongholdings to be our vulnerable human selves. It is a
place that
seems completely powerless: on the slow-moving underbellies of Kings
and Queens,
surrounded by labels, adverts and polarities which can no longer be relied on
for help. In that place before definition, before things end, where
everything always begins, the fool finds power in infinite possibility!

Think of any trickster and fool gods you may wish to invoke and bring
everything you know and everything you don't. That should do it.
Remember: fools
and clowns say YES! Fools play to play, not to win (coz then the game ends and
that's no fun at all). Prepare for a most magical and foolish night.

Fools Day was the traditional new year's day and the climax of the lost tradition of European Carnivale: the day when the commoner could safely speak the truth to the all-powerful. A reversal of traditional societal roles, culminating with the crowning of the wise humble servant and the condemnation of the truly foolish king.

Under SOCPA* - the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005 - New Labour has, in its infinite wisdom, seen fit to reverse the usual order of things. The idea that Parliament - from the French, parler, meaning to speak - should be a place where people can express their political views has been turned upside down by s132 which bans free speech around Parliament. Worse, the very foundation of our unwritten British Constitution - Parliamentary Sovereignty is now under threat. Under the proposed legislation - the Legislative and Regulatory Reform Bill or LARRF - an attempt is currently being made to give power to the Executive - meaning the Prime Minister - to CHANGE ANY LAW WITHOUT RECOURSE TO PARLIAMENT.
